International Cat Show at the Ljubljana Exhibition and Convention Centre

28th and 29th August 2021

Each year, Feline Breeders Club Ljubljana as one of its main activities organizes an international cat show held under the rules of FDL's parent association FIFe, Federation Internationale Feline. At the show, cats of different breeds including house cats (domestic cats), compete for prestigious titles known in felinology as »Best in Show« and »Best of Best«. The exhibition is usually attended by breeders and exhibitors from Slovenia, Croatia, Italy, Austria, Hungary, Germany, other neighbouring countries and eager visitors from Slovenia.

This year's cat show gives visitors the opportunity to see from up close around 250 cats of different breeds, colour and pattern varieties including tortoiseshell, solid, striped, spotted, long- haired, hairless, from cats belonging to bigger breeds to those smaller ones. Some of the cat breeds participating at the show are extremely rare or even not present in Slovenia, which is yet another reason to visit the show.

The cat show will be held on the 28th and 29th August 2021. This time, the location is different and larger than the one of the past few years: Ljubljana Exhibition and Convention Centre (Gospodarsko razstavišče). The programme of the show is especially devoted to the visitors. It includes a rich programme aimed to ensure the visiting cat lovers spend a fun and enjoyable time at the show:

  • Presentation of different breeds of cats
  • The possibility for visitors to vote for »most beautiful cat selected by visitors« and presentation of winning cats
  • Best in Show and Best of Best panel, which is the competitive part of the cat show (BIS – best cats in each category, BOB – best cats of the entire exhibition), a separate »breed« Best in Show competition for Litters on Saturday and Veterans on Sunday
  • Children's play area

On Saturday, there will be a separate BIS competition for Blue cats and on Sunday, there will be a separate competition for Tortoishell cats

A special presentation of certain breeds from all four competing categories will be organized especially for visitors both days. It will begin at 12:00.

As every year, this year too information about the proper cat care and other general information regarding cats will be available for visitors. Cat protection and rescue organizations will be presenting their work at the show as well. The show hall will be filled with a variety of stalls where visitors will be able to purchase all types of different products for their feline friends as well as for their own use.

The exhibition will be held on 28th and 29th of August 2021 from 10:00 to 19:00 (on Sunday till 18.00) at the Ljubljana Exhibition and Convention Centre (Gospodarsko razstavišče), Dunajska cesta 18, 1000 Ljubljana.
